Free Online Professional Education All courses listed below have been approved by the US Green Building Council Education Provider Program. For more information on the USGBC Education Provider Program click here These free online courses are provided as a public service by Gary Rosen, Ph.D., LEED® AP and Certified Mold & Allergen Free Corp. Certificants are eligible for mold (environmental) insurance from Legends Environmental. The first course below, “Building Green” is targeted towards builders and architects. In it we correct a number of misconceptions that LEED / Green Buildings increase the risk of mold and moisture problems. We go on to explain that it is actually construction defects, in almost all cases, that cause such problems. We demonstrate with numerous case studies that a certain class of construction defects in addition to causing mold and moisture problems also results in a significant drop in a building’s energy efficiency. The next 4 courses are targeted towards builders, facility managers and professional mold remediation contractors. These courses concern properly constructing and properly maintaining buildings – avoiding and/or eliminating mold and moisture related problems with a focus on chemical-free procedures. Chemical-Free Mold Remediation for Builders & Facility Managers involves subject mastery and offers an optional Certification. The other 4 courses are more general in nature and are geared toward providing understanding and application level of knowledge.
